Join us for a summer of exploration and fun!
June 1 – August 6, 2021
The Durham Museum is excited to welcome kids back to the museum this summer with a fantastic line-up of engaging and memorable experiences. A wide variety of camp themes means there is something for every child to enjoy. Register early to make sure you secure a spot in our signature Summer in the City experiences, or specialty themed camps like Camp Construction and Wizard Academy.
With reduced camp sizes, enhanced cleaning and health screenings, and distancing measures in place, our number one goal is to provide a safe, enriching environment for your child. Affordable half-day and full-day programs are available for 1st–2nd and 3rd–5th grades. (Please note these are the grade levels your child will be entering in the 2021-2022 school year.) The Durham Museum also offers a “Beyond the Camp” experience for campers who want to arrive early or stay late.
Get signed up before it’s too late—some camp themes have already begun to sell out.

Health & safety
Our goal is to provide a safe and worry-free environment for our campers and their families. Health and safety protocols will be implemented according to local, state, and federal guidelines which we will continue to monitor throughout the season. If you have any questions regarding our COVID-19 safety policies and procedures, please contact the Education Services Department using firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHAT ARE WE DOING DIFFERENTLY?
- Social Distancing
- Reduced Camp Sizes
- Reduced Sharing of Materials
- Regular Hand Washing/Sanitizing
- Regular Cleaning and Sanitizing (Including classrooms, lunch areas, and Beyond the Camp spaces)
- Health Checks/Screening (campers and staff)
Additional information, including daily procedures and policies, will be regularly updated and communicated through our weekly parent e-newsletter. If at any point throughout the camp season you do not receive this newsletter, please contact the Education Services Department, as this communication is crucial to understanding day to day expectations/procedures.
Any campers or camp staff who receive a positive COVID-19 test or are asked to quarantine due to direct exposure will not be able to attend camp. Full refunds will be granted for positive COVID-19 tests or confirmed direct exposures.
Please note that drinking fountains are not available at this time. Water bottles are encouraged.
The museum is currently operating within the Douglas County mask mandate. Should that mandate be lifted, we will evaluate our mask requirements as it relates to summer camp.
