Job Openings
At The Durham Museum we believe museums are places for people to come together, learn and be inspired. An important part of that work is creating a welcoming space for meaningful and personal connections to world and local history. We are committed to being inclusive of the community in which we live and serve. This includes diversifying our workforce, audiences and the way we understand and talk about our collection. Across all levels of our organization, we welcome passionate individuals who bring different perspectives and experiences to our team. Come be part of history and explore the career opportunities at The Durham Museum. We look forward to meeting you!

Internships
The Durham Museum’s internship program offers students skill building experience accompanied by solid academic theory. Each student’s experience consists of four modules of learning – three are hands-on projects, the fourth consists of readings/lecture/field trips drawn from the graduate work and career experiences of Durham staff members. Projects are assigned based on the student’s place in school, career and academic interests (if possible), and annual department goals. Each student is given a list of project benchmarks he or she is expected to complete by the end of the semester. There is also opportunity for evaluation – both at the mid-term and at the end of the internship. For more information, please send an email to curator@durhammuseum.org.
