The Durham Museum is one of only a few places in Omaha to view beautifully preserved art deco style décor. Campers will learn about the art of building design in our great hall. There will also be discussion and crafts surrounding process vs product-based art. Don’t wear white this week – things may get messy!

This week is for the dino-lovers out there! Explore bones, fossils, eggs, and all thing pre-historic. This week will include lots of science and exploration. We will investigate the difficult questions like why did T-Rexes have such short arms, at what age did dinosaurs live to, and of course, why did they go extinct? What will you discover?

Back by popular demand, we’ve decided to feature not one, but two unique line-ups of popular stops in the metro! This week of building and fun will culminate in a showcase of campers’ designs on Friday. All week, campers will use problem solving skills, fine motor skills, and tons of creativity to work together as a group and build a showstopping presentation. Each group will decide if they want to build a park, a city, a specific building, a neighborhood, etc. and then work all week on the fine details. In addition to the big build, campers will have fun with some LEGO®-themed crafts and science experiments along the way.

We will explore this interactive exhibit and learn more about Jane Goodall’s life and legacy. Campers will keep a journal, just like Jane, and explore different types of animals around the world, learning and recording their findings during this interactive, animal-filled week. Please note, this camp is offered twice during the summer. Both programs are identical.

Put your conductor hats on! Where else better to learn about all things trains than Omaha’s former union station? Campers will get to tour all the train cars we have on exhibit, plus create their own locomotives, and learn about other wheeled vehicles.

Let your natural explorer instinct take over this week! Touch, taste, smell and listen; what will you discover? How do your fingerprints make you unique? What substance makes candy dissolve? How can we grow crystals? We will be answering these questions and much more during this fun week of exploration.
