Christmas tree in Great Hall

CHRISTMAS TREE SUBMISSION FORM

Thank you for your interest in donating your evergreen tree for the 2024 Christmas at Union Station season! Please take a moment to read the following information and answer each question to submit your tree for consideration.

The tree must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Over 40 feet tall
  • Have a single, straight trunk
  • Have uniform shape with no bare spots
  • Be in a location with little to no obstructions so that it can be safely removed (i.e powerlines and permanent fences)
  • Be in healthy condition
  • The person submitting the Tree Submission Form must own the property from which the tree will be harvested

Other considerations:

  • Submit your nomination by August 31, 2024. Any submission made after September 1, 2024, will be held for review for the 2025 Christmas at Union Station season.
  • If you nominate a tree for consideration, expect to hear back from us by October 1, 2024.
  • Traditionally, the selected tree has been from the Omaha Metro area. Submissions outside of the Omaha metro are welcome and will be considered at the museum’s discretion.
  • In some cases, a tree may not be quite ready to be this year’s tree, but given another growing season or two, could be perfect. In that case, we may place it on a list for future consideration.

I’ve submitted my form. What’s next?

Once you’ve submitted your form, there is no further action you need to take. However, if you have questions, contact us at mmccarthy@durhammuseum.org or 402-444-5071. Please allow a few days for someone to return your call/email. Museum representatives will begin scouting prospective trees in late July and may come onto your property to take additional notes and photos. We highly recommend you keep your tree well-watered throughout the summer so that it is in great condition all year long.
