- Build upon our relationships with the Smithsonian Institution, The Field Museum, National Geographic and other nationally prominent organizations.
- Help with early financial commitments to secure some of the most sought-after traveling displays to visit our region.
- Enable the museum to curate exceptional exhibits, often with coinciding events and programs to engage the community.

FOUNDING OF THE DURHAM SOCIETY
The Durham Society was built on the foundation that a unique group of individuals possess the power to transform the museum. Inspired by the visionary leadership of Margre and Charles Durham, a giving society was formed in 2004 of community and business leaders. This donor circle has been investing in The Durham Museum and its home Union Station, which was revitalized under Charles Durham’s leadership and in 2016, received the designation of a National Historic Landmark. Durham Society members have helped bring more than 70 traveling exhibitions to Omaha with their extraordinary support.
