Frightful Fun Planned at The Durham Museum

The Durham Museum has plenty of spooky good fun planned for the whole family during the Halloween season this October (24-29 & 31). Get ready to explore some haunted history behind the walls of historic Union Station… and grab some treats along the way! Regular museum admission applies for all activities, FREE for museum members.

The Durham Museum is “thrilled” to welcome back a crowd-favorite, dancing zombies, courtesy of UNO’s The Moving Company. The Moving Company is the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s modern dance performance group. In 2013, the group made its first appearance at the museum as a zombie flash mob, dancing to the iconic Michael Jackson song “Thriller.” To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of this collaboration, Moving Company alumni will join current dancers for their annual performance at the museum’s Great HALL-oween Haunt on October 24, 2023.

The Great HALL-oween Haunt
Tuesday, October 24, 5–8PM • Advanced Tickets Encouraged
Join The Durham Museum and other community organizations including Fontenelle Forest, NE SciFest, Omaha Children’s Museum, PACE Arts and The Rose Theater for trick-or-treating fun! Come in costume and snag sweets from historical characters and spooktacular displays located throughout the museum. Then try your hand at ghostly games and creepy crafts in the Swanson “Ghoulery.” Don’t forget to check out our spooky, but not scary,  Haunted Train and “crawl” your way through the Cobweb Caboose! Stop by our historic Soda Fountain to indulge in some extra sweet Halloween treats, available for purchase. Plus a crowd-favorite, the dancing zombies from UNO’s The Moving Company are back for their 10th year!

Advanced tickets are encouraged due to the popularity of this event. Walk-up tickets will be available the day of the event, if space allows. Purchase tickets at DurhamMuseum.org/halloween or by calling the museum at 402-444-5071. Please note, the museum will close at 4PM and reopen at 5PM for The Great HALL-oween Haunt.
