The Durham Museum Honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Legacy

On January 20th, The Durham Museum will open its doors with free admission from 10AM-4PM to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This day of reflection and community will feature a range of family-friendly activities and special guests.

Visitors can participate in a scavenger hunt to explore connections between the museum’s collection and Dr. King’s message, contribute to a community art project, view a screening of the award-winning PBS docuseries “Eyes on the Prize,” view screenings of Dr. King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, enjoy book readings by local authors and connect with local community organizations on King’s impact.

This free community day is made possible with generous support by U.S. Bank.
