Celebrate Flag Day at The Durham Museum
Join us for a special event celebrating Flag Day at The Durham Museum on June 14, 2018. The event kicks-off at 10AM. The Honor Guard from Offutt Air Force Base will be here to help us retire our current flag and raise our new 20’ x 30’ American Flag in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Great Hall, accompanied by patriotic music performed by the USAF Heartland of America Band. Following this special presentation, guests will enjoy crafts and additional activities honoring Flag Day. Workshop includes:
Guests will make cards to send to servicemen and women
Flag Bracelet with pipe cleaners and beads
History of the Flag
Flag Trivia
Flag Etiquette
Pledge of Allegiance (old and new)
Patriotic pinwheels for each child to take home
Regular museum admission applies and, as always, Durham Museum members get in free!
Have a group of ten or more? The cost is $5/child and $5/parent chaperone. Groups attending may bring one staff member per 10 students at no charge. Please call 402-444-5027 to register your group at the discounted rate. Payment is required upon registration.
