Free Museum Admission on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
The Durham Museum is proud to offer free admission to the community on Monday, January 15, 10AM-4PM, to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day). Join the museum as we highlight Dr. King’s legacy and message of peace, tolerance, community service and an inclusive, hopeful future for all.
In addition to the museum’s permanent and traveling exhibitions, guests can participate in an Omaha history scavenger hunt, contribute to a community art project, view a screening of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech and have a chance to enter to win a museum membership for the year.
There is no fee for museum admission on MLK Day and no registration is necessary.
This free community day is made possible with generous support by U.S. Bank and additional support by Douglas County, Nebraska.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is also the only federal holiday designated by Congress as a National Day of Service – a “day on, not a day off” where Americans are encouraged to volunteer to improve their communities. In answering that call, several organizations have committed volunteers to serve at the museum on MLK Day.
