TOUR INFORMATION
Beautiful architecture blends with memories of a time gone by at The Durham Museum. Making its home in one of Omaha’s most unique treasures, Union Station, The Durham Museum provides a fascinating look at the history of the region. Through our affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution and strong ties with the Library of Congress, National Archives, Chicago’s Field Museum and others, we also offer a number of temporary exhibits covering subjects ranging from history and culture, to science and industry.

Thanks for your interest in visiting The Durham Museum, where history is built to last. We’re here to meet your group’s field trip needs in two great ways – Self-guided (our signature ComeAnytime! field trips) and Daily Programming with Whistle Stop Discoveries with education experience and learning tools for classroom teachers. Both opportunities are available for the same great student rate of $5 per child (in groups of 10 or more).

Get set to explore The Durham Museum!

Whether you’re an old friend or first-time visitor, The Durham Museum offers an exciting, hands-on opportunity to experience history like you’ve never seen it before.  From turn-of-the century innovations, a bison named “Scout” and a massive steam locomotive, to rare coins and the region’s most sought-after traveling exhibits, The Durham Museum is heralded by visitors and scholars for its renowned collections, innovative exhibitions and extensive photo archives.

Tour groups are welcome Tuesday-Sunday during regular museum hours. Groups will be checked-in and receive a short overview of the museum before setting out to explore on-your-own.
Cost: $7 per guest 
Please note: Groups must include 10 or more participants.

Let one of our talented docents lead you on a guided tour of The Durham Museum.  You will explore the history of Union Station, learn about Art Deco architecture and find a new appreciation for our grand structure during this hour-long tour.

Tours are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Membership discount applies only to those in the household. To reserve a seat, please call 402-444-5027 or e-mail education@DurhamMuseum.org. Payment is due at the time of reservation. Private River City History Tours are available year round for groups of 20 to 42. For more information on scheduling a private tour, please contact The Durham’s education department. If you need to cancel your reservation the day of your tour, please call 402-444-5071 x556.

DIRECTIONS/LOCATION IN OMAHA
The Durham Museum is located just south of Omaha’s Historic Old Market at 801 South 10th Street. Situated on the 10th Street Bridge, the museum can be accessed from both 10th Street and Leavenworth Street. The museum has a two-level parking deck that is FREE to all visitors. Tour bus parking is available free of charge along the 10th Street Bridge.
