The Durham Museum

The Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council in collaboration with The Durham Museum are pleased to unveil a new exhibit celebrating the Boy Scout’s vibrant 100 year history. Celebrating the Adventure, Continuing the Journey explores the impact of 100 years of Scouting on our local communities.

The Boy Scouts of America’s 100th anniversary represents much more than a date on the calendar. It represents an important milestone around which to reintroduce Scouting to America. For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has created a strong foundation of leadership, service and community for millions of America’s youth.

Based on the book, Scouting Our Story written by the Mid-America Council, the exhibit chronicles stories and experiences from the formation of the Boy Scouts in 1910 to present day. The book can be ordered online at www.mac-bsa.org. Original artifacts from uniforms and patches to archives and photographs are featured.
